Responsibilities:
Triage:
Perform an initial assessment to evaluate the patient's condition quicklyThis includes checking vital signs, assessing for obvious injuries or distress, and gathering information from the pet owner about the situationAssist Doctors:
Collaborate closely with veterinarians to assist in exams, treatments, and medical procedures for emergency casesVenipuncture and IVC Placement:
Proficiently perform venipuncture and intravenous catheter placementMedication Administration:
Safely and accurately administer fluids, medications, and other treatments as prescribed by veterinariansTeam Collaboration:
Work in conjunction with all technical staff across the hospital to ensure hospitalized patients receive optimal careMaintain open communication with the healthcare teamIntensive Care Unit (ICU):
Vigilantly monitor hospitalized patients, recognizing subtle changes in their clinical status and promptly reporting any concerns to the veterinary teamAssist in Departmental RoundsClient Education:
Provide clear and concise discharge instructions to clients, ensuring they understand the care their furry family member requires after leaving the hospitalRecord Keeping:
Maintain accurate records, including patient history, treatment details, and client communicationAssist with the completion of cost estimatesAnesthesia and Sedation Monitoring:
Prepare patients for procedures and monitor anesthesia to ensure patient safetyDiagnostic Imaging:
Operate diagnostic imaging equipment and assist in capturing radiographs and other diagnostic imagesLaboratory Procedures:
Run diagnostics, correlate results with the clinical presentation of the patient and notify Veterinarian of resultsBlood Transfusion Therapy:
Including collection, administration, and transfusion reactionsAdministering Oxygen:
Flow-by Oxygen, Nasal Oxygen Cannula, or Oxygen CagePlus More! Compensation:
$31 - $41 per hourThis range encompasses all potential earnings, including any additional incentivesShift Differentials:
We offer enhanced pay rates for overnight and weekend shiftsHowever, these differentials are included within the overall $31 - $41 hourly rate rangeSign-On Bonus:
